Charles Infosino 859.462.7989 [email protected] RELEASE DATE: 9/30/2025 Mason Community Players present The Haunting of Hill House Mason Community Players present The Haunting of Hill House, a story about Hill House, a haunted mansion surrounded by hills. Dr. John Montague, a paranormal investigator, rents Hill House for the summer and invites guests who have supernatural experiences. Eleanor Vance and Theodora are the only two who accept. He hopes that they will help him prove that the supernatural exists. Luke Sanderson, the young heir to the estate, plays a role in the experiments. Mrs. Montague, Mrs. Dudley, and Arthur also partake in the spooky story. Director Darren Lee and producer Tess Catlin will host The Haunting of Hill House at the Mason Community Playhouse on Halloween and several days in November. MCP is welcoming back Bob Brunner and introducing six new members to the cast. Their combined talents assure you a “hauntingly spooky” experience. The performances are scheduled for October 31 and November 1, 6, 7, and 8 at 8:00 p.m., and November 2 at 2:00 p.m. The Haunting of Hill House is a horror novel written by American author Shirley Jackson in 1959. It was adapted to film in 1963 and 1999, but was titled The Haunting. The novel was first adapted for the stage in 1964 by F. Andrew Leslie. Mason Community Players is the oldest continually operating community theatre organization in Warren County, Ohio. Since its creation in 1973, the Mason Community Players has brought more than 120 productions and 30 original musical reviews to audiences in Mason. The group operates and performs at the Mason Community Playhouse, located at 5529 Mason Road in Mason, Ohio. The group has fostered a family for the community, involving people of all ages on stage, backstage, and as spectators. After The Haunting of Hill House, the season will wrap up in December with Welcome to Our House for Christmas.
