Louise Borden graduated from Denison University with a degree in history. She taught first graders and preschoolers and later was a part-owner of a bookstore in Cincinnati, Ohio. In addition to writing children’s books, she also speaks regularly to young students about the writing process. Her books include Good Luck, Mrs. K!, which won the Christopher Medal, and The A+ Custodian. She lives in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Mary Kay Carson lives with her husband, Tom Uhlman, and their dog, Ruby, in a century-old house surrounded by deer, hawks, woodchucks, songbirds, and other creatures in Cincinnati, Ohio. Keila V. Dawson was born and raised in New Orleans. When she grew up, she traveled the world, working as a community organizer, teacher, school administrator, educational consultant, and advocate for children with special needs. Nowadays she lives in Cincinnati, where she writes books for children, including The King Cake Baby and Opening the Road: Victor Hugo Green and His Green Book. She is also the coeditor of No Voice Too Small: Fourteen Young Americans Making History and No World Too Big: Young People Fighting Global Climate Change.
Will Hillenbrand is the creator of Little Red—which The Wall Street Journal called "a sweet yuletide story" and School Library Journal hailed as "a fun story that introduces vocabulary and colors, packaged in a holiday adventure"—as well as Snowman’s Story, Down by the Station, and The Voice in the Hollow. He has also illustrated many beloved picture books, including The Biggest, Best Snowman and Snow Friends, both by Margery Cuyler. He lives in Cincinnati, Ohio.
