Art Equals Blue Together

Art Equals, a non-profit organization that empowers everyone to be an artist by providing community-driven accessible opportunities for creative growth and healing, is bringing the local community together to celebrate mental health awareness month with its Blue Together event. Combining Mental Health Month with Art Equals’ Indigo Dye Parties, Blue Together celebrates creativity in support of mental health wellness. Science continues to reveal encouraging evidence about the mental health benefits of creativity. Being creative can increase positive emotions, reduce depressive symptoms and anxiety, and improve the function of our immune systems. Blue Together will host local creators while local mental health resources will be on hand to offer information about services and support. Art Equals will also host their first dye party of the season at the Blue Together event, where attendees can bring their cotton tees to create unique designs. There will also be a full schedule of events of creatively focused wellness activities. These Blue Together creative activity schedule includes: 11:00 AM: PONES with Healing Through Movement 12:00 PM: Cincinnati Book Arts Association with Making Books with Mindful Spaces 1:00 PM: LeeAnn Foltz with SoulCollage® 2:00 PM: Erin DeSantis the Kenton County Health & Wellness Librarian with Meditation and Movement It will be a day of art, wellness, and creativity. Our community sponsors include Center for Great Neighborhoods and 1N5 along with Ricky Nye who will provide music for the afternoon. There are four ways to get involved in Blue Together: • Become a Sponsor with four levels of giving to choose from. • Share your talent as a featured Creator. • Share helpful resources by Hosting an information booth. • Lead wellness exercises by Hosting a workshop.
