Watermelon Dreams Listening Experience
Watermelon Dreams: A Listening Experience is an immersive evening of spoken word, music, storytelling, food, and connection created and performed by Cincinnati poet and spoken-word artist Zeda Stew.
The evening begins with a mixer featuring music, light bites, and a signature watermelon-inspired cocktail before guests are invited into an intimate live performance of selections from Zeda’s upcoming spoken-word album, Watermelon Dreams.
Blending poetry with music, storytelling, visual atmosphere, and audience connection, Watermelon Dreams explores resilience, faith, family, identity, struggle, hope, and the complicated journey of becoming. Inspired by the symbolism of the watermelon—rind, flesh, and seed—the experience examines what protects us, what nourishes us, what we survive, and what we leave behind.
This isn’t simply a poetry reading or album preview. It’s an intentionally curated experience designed to engage the senses, create connection, and allow audiences to experience poetry beyond the page.
