Night Market: Art and Poetry Edition at Findlay Market

Night Market is our annual free outdoor event where we stay open late so you can shop, eat and drink until the sun goes down. This year, we are combining our Art & Poetry event with Night Market to bring you the same bustling Outdoor Market filled with delicious food and drinks and tons of shopping opportunities in addition to a Poetry Slam and art-focused programming. Market House Merchants and Outdoor Market Vendors alike will be popped up outside serving food and selling locally made products, and storefronts on both Race and Elm Street will stay open until 9 PM. There will be various interactive stations as well as live music all evening. Programming: Cincinnati Circus Company 6 - 8 PM Strolling Magician Creative Asian Society 6 - 9 PM Free Origami Making Workshop Open Mic with DJ Diamond at Race St. Station 6 - 7 PM ahead of the poetry slam Poetry Slam @ Race St. Station in partnership with Quills & Queers Think you’ve got what it takes to bring the best verses to the stage? Join us at Race St. Station for an evening of poetry and competition from 7 - 8:30 PM! Contest Guidelines: All poems must be original works by the contestant. The competition consists of three rounds. Contestants must prepare one poem per round (at least three total). Each round is scored independently—scores do not carry over between rounds. Poems may be read from memory, phone, or paper (memorization is optional but encouraged). Time limit: 3 minutes per poem. No props allowed. The Corporation for Findlay Market reserves the right to use submitted information for promotional purposes.
