The literary event will be held on July 13 at 11 a.m. at blaCk Coffee Lounge. Event admission is free, and books will be available for sale.

About the book, RAPture
If you believe God is the progenitor of everything, then music has to fall under that umbrella. Thus making Hip-Hop a God thing. But how a thing starts doesn’t mean that’s how it’ll remain.
The RAPture is a study in Hip-Hop theology that navigates the reader through Hip-Hop’s origins, its impact on society, and how religion is involved. This book is for those stuck between the duality of Praise is What I Do and Back That Azz Up.
The RAPture takes us on a journey that defines our relationship with God. The book also shows that Hip-Hop makes it possible for us to love both.

Mike Scruggs is the founder and Senior Pastor of Light of the World Church. Light of the World started out with nothing but a vision and prayer. From there, the church has grown to accomplish things only God could orchestrate quickly.
