Music@BCM Presents The Turkeys
Some of Covington's coolest birds are back! The Turkeys return to Music@BCM on Thursday, July 16, with more than 20 years of bluegrass, rock, country and folk, plus the rich harmonies and exceptional musicianship that have made them a Northern Kentucky favorite.
Formed in Covington in 2004 by Chris Cusentino and Brad Meinerding, The Turkeys take their name as a tongue-in-cheek nod to legendary "animal bands" like The Byrds, The Turtles and The Eagles. Their genre-blending sound draws inspiration from artists including Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, The Grateful Dead, Bill Monroe, Merle Haggard, Bob Dylan and The Beatles, creating a style that's uniquely their own.
The band has released two albums of original music and one album of covers. In 2007, The Turkeys received a Cincinnati Entertainment Award for Best Country Album for Every Night's the Same.
The lineup features Chris Cusentino on guitar and vocals, Kyle Knapp on guitar and vocals, Brad Meinerding on lead guitar and vocals, Brian Aylor on drums and Mike Barrett on bass. Music@BCM concertgoers may also recognize Cusentino from behind the scenes, where he serves as the series' sound engineer. Cusentino was inducted into the Northern Kentucky Music Hall of Fame in 2025.
Weather permitting, concerts are held outdoors at Behringer-Crawford Museum, located at 1600 Montague Road in Covington. In the event of inclement weather, performances will be moved indoors. Parking is free.
Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for museum members and students ages 13 to 17, and free for children ages 12 and under. Visitors presenting an EBT card receive a reduced admission of $3 for up to four persons. Concert admission also includes access to BCM's current exhibition, Treasures From the Attic: 250 Years of Fashion & Furniture.
Food fromSkyline Chili, Erlanger will be available for purchase during the concert, along with a cash bar and the crowd-favorite "Split the Pot" raffle. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for outdoor seating.
