CALL TO ARTISTS: The Story Within, Youth Art Show Deadline July 20th Ages 5-18 Call to artists for a public art show, “The Story Within”. Artists will receive a blank, wooden, paintable book that opens. Artists are asked to paint their story, a story that resonates with them, or create a story! Artists may use the inside and outside of the book, or outside only. Various media are welcomed and encouraged. Be creative! Tell us who you are through this visual narrative. The Details... Children ages 5-18 are invited to use all kinds of mediums to create their one-of-a-kind book. Prizes will be awarded after the art show. There will be 3 winners in 2 different age groups; ages 5-10 and ages 11-18. Winners will be decided by popular vote and by a mystery judge. After payment, blank, wooden books can be picked up Monday-Friday, from 8:30 am until 4:00 pm. Please contact us if you need a pickup time outside this time frame. The deadline to apply is July 25th. Decorated books should be returned by August 12th, to be displayed in the August 15th art show. After the art show, books can be picked up starting Tuesday, August 19th. Scholarships are available and will be awarded to those with a financial need. Please email [email protected] for additional information. *** Join us for a youth art show, “The Story Within”. This visual narrative showcases art by the community, from artists ages 5-18. Artists were tasked with painting a wooden book to share their story, or a story that resonates with them. Come view the work Friday, August 15th, from 4:00-6:00 pm. During your visit vote for your favorite art book! Following the show, enjoy a free concert in the garden, starting at 6:00 pm.
