Urban American Outdoors TV (UAOTV) and SODAS Life Inc. (Saving our Daughters and Sons Life) 501c3 will host the Urban Kids Fishing Derby Chicago. The free Saturday fishing excursion will be held on May 9, 2026, at William W Powers State Recreation Area 12949 S Avenue O Chicago, Il. The derby begins at 8:30am till 12 noon.
Partnering hosts this year include Pepsi Foundation, Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Illinois Urban and Community Fishing, I AM Entertainment Magazine, and F.A.C.T.S. The Kid’s Derby is free for youngsters between the ages of 4 to 16 and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All registered participants may bring their own rods, reels, bait, chair, and or stringer. Loaner poles will be available for those who need one that preregister.

For the biggest fish caught by our young angler, there will be a $100.00 prize. Parts of the derby will be filmed for an upcoming segment on Urban American Outdoors TV (UAOTV) with host Wayne Hubbard.
Wayne Hubbard and Candice Price for the past 25 plus years have been sharing his outdoor adventures, conservation tips, green ideas, wildlife information, STEAM education with all. In addition, Urban American Outdoors and Urban Kids Fish have had over 100,000 youth and adults to catch their very first fish.
