Fleurs de Villes ARTISTE + The Kentucky Derby at The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago

Combining a love of flowers, local design talent and bespoke displays, Fleurs de Villes connects world-class talent in cities around the world to showcase stunning flower art displays and engage local communities. This spring, the long-awaited event returns to Chicago’s Magnificent Mile from May 1-5 for its 2024 floral series paying homage to remarkable artists spanning various disciplines. Fleurs de Villes ARTISTE will feature Chicago’s talented florists, creating incredible fresh floral mannequins inspired by artistic visionaries and vibrant art scenes around the world. Drawing from its similarities in rich history, tradition and luxury, The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago is celebrating the heritage and art of the Kentucky Derby during Fleurs de Villes ARTISTE. The hotel will have installations in its lobby and at 900 North Michigan shops. Both floral displays will be inspired by Wylie Caudill, the official artist for the 150th Kentucky Derby, and will emulate Caudill’s “Run of the Roses'' with the vibrant blooms of spring. Caudill’s work is also featured on the 2024 commemorative Derby bottle by Woodford Reserve, the presenting sponsor of the Kentucky Derby. The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago will also offer specialty cocktails created with Woodford Reserve, including the Woodford Reserve Spire and the Old Forester Mint Julep through May 5, which are featured at Churchill Downs on race day. The hotel will also host a special Kentucky Derby-themed tea service as part of its Spring Afternoon Tea series featuring a variety of finger tea sandwiches, quiche, freshly baked scones and pastries paired with bubbly or tea.
