Join nature photographer Mark Chantell on Sunday February 11 from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm Central at Indiana Dunes National Park’s Paul H. Douglas Center for a workshop on winter nature photography, with an emphasis on closeup imaging. He will be covering practical considerations, including what camera gear to use, macro photography tips, and proper outdoor dress and safety. He will also attempt to convey why in the world someone would want to go out hiking and photographing in sub-zero conditions with ice… and snow… and high winds... as opposed to staying inside where it is warm and dry.
The first hour of the workshop will consist of a one-hour indoor presentation and demonstration. Followed by an outdoor photography session, hopefully with some nice wintery weather. To get the most out of the workshop please bring an interchangeable lens camera and a tripod.
Please meet at the Paul H. Center for Environmental Education, located in the western portion of the national park at 100 North Lake Street, about one mile north of U.S. Highway 12 in the Miller neighborhood of Gary.
