Contraflow
Contraflow is an evening-length, contemporary dance performance, weaving themes of emotional tension, embodied contradiction, and the intimacy of these experiences into an entangled portrayal of what it looks and feels like to hold opposing truths at the same time. Over the span of 45 minutes, 6 dance artists offer unique, embodied physicalities that move through areas of tension, noise, exhaustion, and tenderness, all of which counterflow throughout their bodies and extend into each other. Contraflow reminds us that during moments of embodied contradiction, tension, and discomfort, nuance radiates through the in-between space of possibility and reality.
As an independent dance collective, kt williams + artists prioritize experimentation, authentic self-expression, and together, they research and present dance works through a collaborative working structure as a means for deepened social connection. They seek to deconstruct traditional notions of contemporary dance presentation, locating where technicality, experimentation, and interdisciplinary performance can dynamically coexist.
Contraflow has been in development since June 2024 and will premiere on June 26-27, 2026 at 7:00pm at the Fasseass Whitebox at the Menomonee Club Drucker Center. Tickets can be purchased as a $25 suggested donation. Seats can be reserved online here, or at the door; donations can be made online here, or at the door. Contraflow is the first evening-length dance performance created and produced by kt williams + artists.

Ticketing Statement:
We believe dance should be accessible to all. To reserve your seat, tickets for this performance are sold as a “suggested donation” of $25. If you’re able to give a little more, please know your donation will be given directly to the performers following the performance. Seats can be reserved online via Eventbrite, or at the door, on a first-come, first-served basis. Limit 1 ticket per order. As you reserve your seat online, we ask that donations can be made via our Fractured Atlas crowdfunding page online.
