Named one of 2024’s Queer Comedians to Watch the "delightfully weird and distinctive" Sierra Kenyon is proud to announce the world premiere of her sophomore solo special, The Deep End with Sierra Kenyon, at The Den Theatre in Chicago. Created by Sierra Kenyon, directed by Sabrina Odigie, and produced by Rogue Schmidt, this oddball mix of vulnerable stories and standup comedy explores mental health, queerness, heartbreak, autism, and celebrating the freedom in acceptance. Tickets are on sale now at thedentheatre.com.
A bit about me, I’m gay, I’m neurodivergent and I’m mentally ill. I may not be my extended family’s favorite or the most popular but they can’t stop talking about me. I’m the youngest too so you know for me all press is good press.
This summer Sierra Kenyon was hurled into the deep end, with NO floaties. After going through a breakup, a lay off, and a best friend moving away all in the span of one week, Sierra found herself caught in the tide.
“It felt like life itself caught me in a dark alley and took my wallet,” shares Kenyon, “but it also felt like a great time to challenge myself. I felt intense loss, but for the first time I didn't feel unstable.”
In this hilarious and vulnerable hour of stand up comedy and heartfelt storytelling, Sierra sends out a life raft to all the other weirdos and misfits. This show is created for anyone who has struggled with accepting who they are, what they have going on “upstairs”, and anyone who might just be a lil freak. If parents loved you, English teachers protected you, and your peers didn't “understand” you, you’ll feel right at home in The Deep End.
