The Chicago Firehouse Restaurant, located at 1401 South Michigan Avenue in the South Loop, is celebrating Mardi Gras on Tuesday, February 13 from 5:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. with an evening of Louisiana-style eats and beats. Guests may indulge in a special Fat Tuesday menu that brings to life all the flavor and fun of New Orleans while enjoying live music from High-Hat Second Line, a New Orleans brass and jazz band with a Chicago twist. Along with a new feature this year, a New Orleans pianist delighting guests in The Blue Room. The Cajun-inspired menu will feature classic favorites including Crawfish Mac & Cheese, Cajun Fried Chicken & Tasso Jambalaya, Shrimp Po’ Boy, and the new Spicy Crawfish Boil and Cafe Du Monde Beignet Bar. Specialty cocktails include Hurricanes and Sazeracs. The overall experience is available at $59 including tax and service fee, which covers the buffet, live music, and mardi gras beads. “Our annual Mardi Gras celebration is one of our favorite days of the year,” said Laura O’Malley, owner of The Chicago Firehouse Restaurant. “Between our bold and flavorful Louisiana-style menu and live jazz performances, we invite Chicago to come and let the good times roll– laissez les bons temps rouler!” The Chicago Firehouse Restaurant delivers a memorable, guest-first dining experience. Formerly Engine Company 104 of the Chicago Fire Department, The Chicago Firehouse Restaurant infuses the culture of the past to serve the present as an officially designated Chicago Landmark. To uphold the longstanding tradition of serving the South Loop neighborhood, this acclaimed 1905 Romanesque Revival structure opened its historic doors in 2000. Both the structure and menu are designed to reflect the uniqueness of its origin story, with renovations that reflect thoughtful attention to turn of the century design elements while maintaining the building’s beauty and heritage. In addition to creating a special menu for Fat Tuesday celebrations, Chef de Cuisine Oscar Montesinos brings his culinary expertise to The Chicago Firehouse kitchen. Inspired by both the history and beauty of the restaurant, Chef Montesinos incorporates a thoughtful approach to the The Chicago Firehouse Restaurant’s quintessential steakhouse fare featuring prime steaks, fresh seafood, and signature dishes. The regular dinner menu will not be available on Fat Tuesday. To view the full Fat Tuesday menu, visit the website. Reservations are available on Resy.
