Old Town Teachers Organization is proud to present Sing Your Story: Labor Songwriting Workshop. Do you have a story to tell? A cause to fight for? This workshop will empower you to turn your passion for workers' rights into powerful songs! Use music to tell your story. Learn from experienced musicians, teaching artists and songwriters Charles Kim and Steve Dawson in a hands on songwriting workshop. Whether you are a seasoned songwriter or just starting out this workshop will give you the skills to capture the emotions and stories of working life (or any theme!) You'll learn how to find inspiration in your experiences, craft compelling lyrics, melodies that move, and exciting chord progressions. Develop your songwriting skills in a supportive and inspiring environment. This workshop will explore the rich tradition of labor songs, but the songwriting techniques you learn will apply to all genres of music. Open to all levels. Bring your voice, your stories and a willingness to create!
