Chicago-based nonprofit Public Equity will hold a mental health forum Pathways To Building And Sustaining Healthy Communities Through CVI at Daley College (7500 S Pulaski Rd) from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on May 25. Participants include Dr. Marvin Lindsey an adjunct professor at the University of Illinois Jane Addams College of Social Work and former CEO of the largest statewide behavioral health association in Illinois; Tytannie Harris psychotherapist and CEO of TMH Behavioral Services a private mental health practice focused on therapy; Bo Deal anti violence advocate; state representative Lindsey LaPointe the chief sponsor of HB3230 a bill that supports the development of a statewide initiative to coordinate and deliver behavioral health crisis responses; Ciara Stanton Associate Director at Public Equity; Jalen Arthur Director of Strategic Initiatives at Chicago CRED; Sam Castro Director of Community Violence Intervention at The Institute for Nonviolence Chicago; Steve Perkins Director of Field Instruction at Metropolitan Peace Initiatives; Shondra Giles Director of Behavioral Health for the Crisis Prevention & Response Unit at Metropolitan Family Services; Asha Johnson Community Health Organizer at Public Equity special guest Noah White and more. Mandated Life Coaching will also be available on-site during the forum.
