RE:fest

Chicago’s premier annual sustainability themed street festival promoting a commitment to reclaiming, reusing, remaking and retraining for a more sustainable and future-ready Chicago. Hosted by The Rebuilding Exchange at our social enterprise headquarters, this eco-friendly extravaganza promises a day of activities for everyone - 5 live bands, a kids zone with bounce houses, DIY demos, a reused material maker competition, 35+ artisan vendors, our exclusive craft brew RE:Zest APA, reclaimed materials drop-off, 3 local food trucks and more. Donations at the door will support our mission to reduce construction waste, reuse architectural salvage and train people for careers in the building trades. RECLAIM AND REUSE: After a city-wide gallery tour, you’ll have the exclusive opportunity to bid and take home our RE:MAKE artist competition creations, crafted by local makers and artists using $100 in reclaimed materials from our warehouse. Proceeds from the silent auction benefit the Rebuilding Exchange. Plus, shop our vibrant community of makers and artists during the festival. Shop and tour our warehouse of reclaimed materials - from old growth lumber and light fixtures to furniture and the mate to that one door knob you’ve been hoping to match - we’ve got it all under our roof. REVEL AND FEST Our stage is set with live music to enjoy all day and into the night. Grab your friends and make your own dance floor while the sun sets over the Chicago River and skyline behind our warehouse. Our littlest street festival goers will have their own Kids Zone complete with inflatables and a scavenger hunt to entertain and inspire. FOOD AND DRINK Sip our festival-exclusive RE:Zest brew from District Brew Yards plus craft cans from Revolution, Old Irving, Burnt City, Solemn Oath, Illuminated and Conrad Seippe, and delicious bites from local food trucks. SUGGESTED $10 DONATION Admission is free, and donations are accepted at the door. Your donation supports The Rebuilding Exchange, a nonprofit organization dedicated to investing in Chicago and the region through the reuse of building materials, reducing construction waste, and providing training and support for careers in the building trades.
