Varo String Quartet Returns to Rosehill Cemetery
Blending sounds ranging from the traditional to the terrifying, VSQ will present works by Luis Fernando Amaya, Jonathan Hannau, Joseph Haydn, and Gyorgy Ligeti in a smorgasbord of spooky sounds. Contemporary works by Amaya and Hannau, a string quartet in C Major by Haydn with perhaps more hidden depths, and the challenging and thoroughly creepy String Quartet No. 1 “Métamorphoses nocturnes” by Gyorgy Ligeti combine for an evening of Halloween-themed classical music that will surprise, scare, and delight.
