A Conversation with Dr. Eve L. Ewing

Dominican University’s School of Education, in partnership with Wednesday Journal, presents an evening with Dr. Eve L Ewing, writer, scholar and Chicago cultural organizer, on Thursday, April 16. The program, entitled “A Conversation with Dr. Eve L. Ewing: Education, Equity and Justice from Original Sins to Superheroes,” will be held at 7 p.m. in Dominican University’s Lund Auditorium, 7900 Division Street, River Forest. Dr. Ewing is the author of numerous books, most recently the acclaimed Original Sins: The (Mis)education of Black and Native Children and the Construction of American Racism. A New York Times and USA Today bestseller, Original Sins was named a Best Book of the Year by The New Yorker, Esquire, Elle and the Chicago Public Library and was longlisted for the Andrew Carnegie Medal. The book explores the American school system’s historic role in reinforcing the idea of White intellectual superiority and upholding the country’s racial hierarchy.
