Collage and Paper Weaving Workshop
The Museum is pleased to invite Alissa Voth to lead our upcoming Collage and Paper Weaving Workshop!
In this paper weaving and collage workshop, participants will learn how to create original art out of everyday materials. Attendees will discover how to source, collect, and organize found materials to craft personal art pieces. They will be guided through various weaving patterns and collaging techniques, learning to draft, plan, and execute their own designs while embracing imperfections and uncertainty. The workshop will also cover best practices for organizing and archiving paper materials, ensuring a well-maintained and inspiring creative space.
While tools and materials for the workshop will be provided, participants are encouraged to bring any paper or ephemera that they wish to work with. Materials provided by the artist, Alissa Voth, will focus on themes of space, text, and nature. Additional magazines will be provided by the Chicago Collage Community.
All levels are welcome to enjoy this workshop!
