Manifestations
“Manifestations” is a one night event where the artist is given the freedom to express the processes and object of their most forthcoming ideas or thesis. The show emphasizes any act of creation as a form of unity amongst artists, as well as a resistance to the powers that isolate us. It is meant to reflect the unique approach that each artist takes in creating material manifestations, forming from each individual’s personal background and their reactions to the current time into a physical body of work.
Any act of creation can be seen as the artist refusing to comply with a system that is meant to isolate people from each other. Community is one of the most important roles in the process of creation, it gives everyone the opportunity to grow in their work. When we all come together to display our individual works, it forms a resistance to the power structures that divide us and provides links of support to one another.
