When yellow fever swept through Phila in 1793 retreats like Graeme Park became important havens. It was this epidemic that prompted Elizabeth Graeme Fergusson's nephew-in-law to take up residence at Graeme Park, which he had purchased in 1791. Not wanting to live as a guest in her old home, his move resulted in Elizabeth leaving for a boarding house in Hatboro. Costumed actors will present vignettes related to yellow fever and the residents of Graeme Park in special tours throughout the day.
