Special Olympics Illinois presents the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge at Gallagher Way, bringing one of the state’s signature winter fundraisers to Wrigleyville for the first time. Individuals, organizations, and businesses are invited to raise funds and take an icy plunge in support of Special Olympics Illinois athletes.
Now in its 27th year, Polar Plunge raises critical funds and awareness for Special Olympics Illinois, which serves more than 29,000 active participants across the state, including traditional athletes, Young Athletes, peer partners, and Unified partners. In 2025, Polar Plunge raised more than $3 million and engaged more than 10,000 plungers statewide.
Participants must raise a minimum of $100 to take part and are eligible for incentive items based on fundraising levels. The event is part of a series of 27 plunges taking place across Illinois throughout February and March.
