The members of the Zedashe Ensemble from the Republic of Georgia will lead a singing workshop at Fulton Hall on the University of Chicago campus on Sunday, September 15 from 1-4pm. Georgian singing, one of the world’s most ancient and arresting three-part harmony-singing traditions, features a dark, sonorous vocal quality and startling, unexpected and soul-stirring harmonies. Songs in the workshop will be taught primarily by ear, with wordsheets; no previous experience is necessary.
Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the incredible music of Georgia. Tickets for the workshop available in advance and at the door. Fulton Hall is located on the 4th floor of Goodspeed Hall, in the quad at 59th and Ellis on the University of Chicago campus. Accessible by elevator. The workshop is $30 for the general public. (Free to registered members of the 2024-25 season of the Chicago World Music Chorus: https://chicagoworldmusic.org/.).
