Village of Glen Ellyn to Host 2024 Recycling Extravaganza

Dart Container, a leading provider of sustainable foodservice packaging solutions, is proud to support the Village of Glen Ellyn’s 2024 Recycling Extravaganza on April 27, 2024, from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the College of DuPage. The Village of Glen Ellyn is hosting this recycling event to provide the public with the opportunity to bring items to be recycled, reused, and kept out of landfills. This is part of a series of recycling events across Illinois this spring and summer Dart Container is supporting to provide a convenient way for residents to dispose of hazardous waste in a sustainable manner. What: A Village of Glen Ellyn community event where attendees can bring items to be recycled, reused, and disposed of in an environmentally friendly way. Accepted items include electronics, block-style packaging foam (from appliances, electronics, etc.), foam ice chests/coolers, foam cups, clean take-out food service foam products/clam shells, bikes, helmets, accessories, books, LP records, holiday lights, inkjet cartridges (no toner cartridges), keys, American flags (collected by Cub Scout Pack 32), hearing aids, eyeglasses, and durable medical equipment. There will be a fee of $11 for smoke detectors, $20 for TVs/Monitors, and $2 for a quart of latex paint. Aerosol cans will be accepted for $1 each, propane tanks for $4 each, isobutane, batteries for $4 per pound, and car seats for $10. Attendees are also encouraged to bring non-perishable items to donate to the Glen House Food Pantry. Document shredding, hazardous waste, and prescription drugs will not be accepted.
