A Day In The Country #17- Sunday, June 22nd. Broken Hearts 1009 W. Lake St. Award-winning Chicago country mainstay Lawrence Peters has assembled another tremendous collection of acts for the event, this year moving from its 16 year home at The Hideout, to a new honky tonk called Broken Hearts, in Chicago’s West Loop.
The lineup is headed by ace Nashville honky-tonker Joshua Hedley, plus Pat Reedy, Nikki Morgan, The Lawrence Peters Outfit, Big Sadie, Woodrow Hart & The Haymaker, Allegra Malone, Zack Fedor and The Long Goodbyes, Annalee Koehn & Chuck Cox, Cropduster4, Local Memory, Otter Paw String Band, and Magic Ian.
Joshua Hedley has been one of the most respected artists in Nashville’s honky
tonk scene for many years, with his albums “Mr. Jukebox” and “Neon Blue”
standing as two of the finest collections of original country music in recent memory.
He’ll be leading a full band for this year's event.
The festival also features BBQ and pie from Baby Gold, cocktails from Angel’s Envy, Ilegal Mezcal slushies, plenty of cold beer, and a special canned coffee from Dark Matter for the event, all to a live soundtrack of outstanding honky tonk, bluegrass, stringband,
Americana, country soul, outlaw country, Ameripolitan music, and more.
And don’t forget to pick up a silk screened poster of the event by Chicago artist Ryan Duggan.
