Emily Ramirez- Vocalist, Improvisor: A former professional ballerina, Broadway touring performer, and current director, producer, and teacher, Emily Ramirez is the founding owner/operator of BABS Comedy Club. She and her husband purchased 7316 Madison St. in 2023 and have since been using their 20+ years of home restoration experience to complete the buildout of what is gradually becoming a beautiful space dedicated to teaching and producing stellar local comedy and supporting up-and-coming comedians on their path to stardom. When she's not doing all that, she's usually just sitting silently in her pajamas thinking about the next time she'll go to Brown Cow for Ice Cream.
Dave Asher- Music Director, Keys: Dave Asher is a veteran pianist of the Chicago improv scene. He grew up in Champaign-Urbana and moved up to Chicago to get his degree in Theater at Northwestern University. His time at the Second City led him to performing with Boom Chicago in Amsterdam, where he began to experiment with music and returned to America to combine it with improv. He served as music director for the iO Improv Olympic theater in Chicago and is now blessed to be the Music Director for the remarkable BABS community. (For more, visit http://daveasher.com)
Preston O'ffill- Vocalist, Improvisor: Preston O’ffill is thrilled to be part of the MICC Stoop Session! Favorite stage credits include Frank Abagnale Jr. in Catch Me If You Can and Tom Sawyer in both The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (he’s clearly got a type). Preston is also an active improviser and has performed with BABS, Baby Wants Candy at Second City, and Here 4 A Bit. When he’s not performing, Preston enjoys teaching improv to young performers and hopes to pass along the same confidence, creativity, and joy the art form has given him.
Matt Sigur, Percussion: Matthew Sigur is a Louisiana-born journalist, musician and comedian. Upon moving to Chicago some eight years ago, Sigur studied improv and sketch comedy at The Second City while freelancing for outlets such as The Ringer, WBRZ, Entertainment Weekly, and Chicago Reader. After moving to Forest Park in 2025, Sigur started jamming, performing and being a straight-up goof with his friends at Babs Comedy Club (the greatest comedy club on planet earth). When he’s not hamming it up with the Babes, he’s playing drums or hanging with his beautiful wife, Jessica, and cat, Ditalini.
StoopSessions are sponsored by Mark Hanson, State Farm Agent.
