League of Women Voters Hosts Jon Stewart Film "Irresistible"
Irresistible (2020) is a film about a Democratic stategist who tries to help a candidate win a local election that takes on big money of American politics. Local leagues in five cities concurrently host the film event at Alamo Drafthouse restaurants around the country. Voter registration for moviegoers will be on site to register and provide election information and will highlight the importance of voting in the 2024 election.
The League of Women Voters of Chicago is a nonpartisan, grassroots organization that works to protect and expand voting rights and ensure everyone is represented in our democracy.
Alamo Drafthouse founder and president, Tim League, is a strong supporter of the LWV and offered to host the "Irresistible" evening to shine a light on the work of the League and the importance of voting. "We are pleased to provide a space for the LWV while everyone attending the movie can enjoy cold drinks, delicious meals and popcorn brought to their seat by our servers."
