Composting "Learn & Volunteer" Saturdays

We're inviting you to join in on our Community Compost program "Learn & Volunteer" Saturdays starting in May and running twice a month through November 2nd (see specific dates above). Arrive at 10am to check-in and drop off your kitchen scraps (optional). Then learn hands-on from Darion Crawford (DC), Community Compost Coordinator, as you volunteer in UGC's industry-leading urban ag composting systems. Each week will include a theme/topic in composting. Volunteering ends at 12pm. If you'd like to stay for our general farm Afternoon Tour & Volunteer hours (Saturdays from 1-4pm), you must also RSVP here This event is also happening on: September 14, September 28, October 12 and November 2 ***PREP & ARRIVAL*** All volunteers must sign our Liability, Theft, and Photo release waiver at least once per season: LINK Please plan to arrive ten minutes early to check-in at the Welcome Table visible from the entrance before heading onto the farm to join the tour. A UGC representative will greet you at the Welcome Table. ***REGISTER FOR OUR COMMUNITY COMPOST PROGRAM*** Want to dive deeper and come weekly to drop off your kitchen scraps? You can learn more and register. Registered Community Compost participants are not required to make a donation to attend our "Learn & Volunteer" Saturdays. ***DONATIONS*** We ask for a $10 donation per adult, and $5 for children. Neighbors (zip codes 60617, 60620) are welcome to join us donation-free! Registered Community Compost program participants can also RSVP for free. Regardless, cost should not be a barrier—if financial support is needed you can RSVP using the Free Neighbor RSVP. ***GROUPS*** Groups over 10 must organize a group volunteer session with us separately; if your organization is a local nonprofit please inquire here, and for corporations / offices, inquire here.
