Proud to Run Pride Race
Proud to Run Chicago will host its annual Pride Race on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Montrose Harbor. The event features a 5K walk/run and 10K run, welcoming runners, walkers, and supporters to gather on the morning before the Chicago Pride Parade.
For more than four decades, Proud to Run has been a fixture of Chicago’s Pride weekend. What began as a small group of runners has grown into a multigenerational community tradition. The race is a space where LGBTQ+ Chicagoans and their allies show up for one another, move together, and take up space in the city they call home.
“Proud to Run has always been about more than a starting line,” said Patti Flynn, Race Co-Director of Proud to Run Chicago. “It is a safe space, a community gathering, and a visible reminder that we belong to one another. Everything we do is in service of that.”
2026 Community Partners
This year’s Community Partners reflect the breadth of work happening across Chicago’s LGBTQ+ community:
Lighthouse Foundation of Chicago, advancing the well-being of Black LGBTQ+ communities through advocacy, research, and direct services.
Trans Up Front, supporting transgender Illinoisans through community-led programs, education, and resources.
Youth Empowerment Performance Project, a home for LGBTQ+ youth experiencing homelessness to tell their stories through performance and the arts.
Race day is about visibility and community first. Every registration and donation helps sustain the year-round work of our Community Partners serving LGBTQ+ Chicagoans. To date, Proud to Run has contributed more than $750,000 to LGBTQ+ causes across the city.
