BERD Dance Ensemble Live Performance in Chicago
The internationally acclaimed BERD Dance Ensemble of Armenia will perform for one night only at Christian Heritage Academy in Northfield, Illinois (315 Waukegan Rd), bringing to the Chicago area a breathtaking celebration of Armenia’s vibrant dance heritage.
Founded in 1963 in Yerevan, Armenia, the BERD Dance Ensemble is one of the nation’s most renowned folk-dance companies. Under the artistic direction of Karen Gevorgyan, Honored Artist of Culture of the Republic of Armenia, the ensemble has performed in over 40 countries, captivating audiences with its dynamic choreography, authentic costumes, and powerful stage presence.
The Chicago concert is part of the ensemble’s 2025 U.S. Tour, which includes performances in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York. Audiences can expect a visually stunning and emotionally charged program featuring more than 100 traditional Armenian dances — from heroic and martial performances that reflect the strength of the Armenian spirit to lyrical and ritual dances that express the soul and beauty of the nation’s culture.
“This performance is not just a dance show,” says Artistic Director Karen Gevorgyan, “it is a journey into the heart of Armenia — a living bridge between generations and across continents.”
