Donovan Mixon Presents a "Donovan's Garage Jazz Event (In the Actual Donovan's Garage)
Donovan Mixon continues his work to bring the best Chicago jazz artists to Evanston for these free shows.
During the summer he has been staging these events in the garage that gave its name to the "Donovan's Garage" shows. It is the actual garage behind his home at 1135 Cleveland Street in Evanston, and you will enjoy the show on your lawn chair in the alley.
The music starts at 7pm.
The show on Tuesday, August 19 will feature Edo Castro, the 7-String electric bass wizard. Joining the quartet will be the vibraphonist Joe Sonnefeldt and drummer Bobby Delgado. Donovan will be on jazz guitar.
Normally to hear the finest Chicago jazz artists you'd be driving down to the clubs in Chicago. Nothing wrong with that, but how cool it is to have Donovan bringing this talent to our city for these free shows.
For a Tuesday evening that will be fun and in an unusual setting, head for the alley.
