We are distraught by the reality that Shape Note and Jubilee singing are becoming extinct. Our generation was once inundated with this style of music, which was part of our “upbringing." This rich legacy was bequeathed to us by our ancestors. But is it destined to be lost in the musical archives, collecting dust and being forgotten? We must not forget that our parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents found solace in singing this style of music. They rooted themselves in musical notations designed to heighten congregational worship and spirited singing. We urge you to join us on this journey as we seek to revive and restore life ... Our Union sessions are held on the second Sunday of each month (excluding May, August, and September), and we invite you to fellowship with us.
