Project 2 Heal is delighted to extend a public invitation for a free evening of cinema with a special screening of "Charlie's Scars." The event will take place on Sunday, November 19th from 6:30pm to 9:00pm in the Banquet Room at St. Matthew Catholic Church, located at 8015 Ballantyne Commons Pkwy, Charlotte, NC 28277. The event will consist of the following itinerary: • 6:30pm-6:45pm: Guests are invited to settle in with complimentary snacks and seating. • 6:45pm-7:00pm: Film introduction and opening remarks. • 7:00pm-8:15pm: Screening of "Charlie's Scars." • 8:15pm-9:00pm: Q/A session with Charlie Petrizzo and a discussion about the transformative journey of Project 2 Heal. "Charlie's Scars," initially released in 2012, received the Festival Favorites Jury Award at the Asheville Film Festival. The film chronicles the remarkable life of Project 2 Heal founder Charlie Petrizzo, who overcame brain damage, paralysis, and severe burns following two life-threatening accidents in his childhood. Charlie's inspirational journey led him to establish Project 2 Heal, an organization dedicated to providing service dogs to veterans, children with special needs, and adults with disabilities. This engaging event is open to the public and comes with complimentary snacks and refreshments. While no tickets are required, RSVPs are encouraged to ensure ample seating. (Find event posting at https://www.facebook.com/events/760560232502681) About "Charlie's Scars": The film explores Charlie Petrizzo's journey of healing and faith, showcasing his commitment to a purpose-filled life through Project 2 Heal. In a surprising twist, Charlie's Scars delves into the true nature of healing and forgiveness as it documents Petrizzo's decision to extend a second chance at life to Melinda Loveless, a convicted murderer responsible for the tragic death of 12-year-old Shanda Sharer in 1992, whom Charlie has discovered is training one of his dogs in prison. Project 2 Heal invites the community to join this uplifting evening of cinema, reflection, and discussion. Don't miss the chance to witness the profound impact of healing and forgiveness in "Charlie's Scars." We accomplish this through the expert husbandry and nurturing of world-class Labrador Retriever puppies, purpose-bred and donated to service dog training organizations nationwide. Since its founding in 2011, Project 2 Heal has donated nearly 400 puppies to more than 25 service dog training organizations nationwide. Now at an inflection point, the organization has begun strategic planning to reach a longterm goal of building a facility dedicated to exponentially increasing annual output of future service dogs, as well as providing mental health services to veterans in need.
