Family Day at McColl Center
Family Day at McColl Center is for toddlers, teens, and everyone in between! We invite the whole family to join in on a day of making art inspired by our current exhibitions and artists. After you create your work, take a tour of McColl Center to see what's in the galleries! In January, we're exploring Doris Kapner's exhibition A Grimm Tale!
Immerse yourself in the art of printmaking as we delve into the captivating stories of Grimm's Fairy Tales. From Little Red Riding Hood to Cinderella, participants will learn the techniques of gelatin printing to bring these beloved stories to life on paper. Capture the essence of these magical tales through vibrant colors and imaginative compositions.
After you've created your print, explore the art of ceramics where we'll create sculptures inspired by the delicious (and sometimes dangerous) foods found in Grimm's Fairy Tales! Create your own poison apple from Snow White or a magical gingerbread house from Hansel and Gretel. McColl Center staff will guide participants in transforming clay into gourmet wonders straight from the pages of these classic stories.
Family Day is free and open to all!
