Join celebrated writer and playwright Stan Zimmerman for an exclusive pop-up book signing of his memoir, "The Girls: From Golden to Gilmore," on opening night of Meet & Greet: An Evening of One Acts in the lobby of Charlotte’s Off Broadway at the VAPA Center. Hosted by Troubadour Booksellers, this special event invites fans to commemorate television history. This fall marks both the 40th anniversary of The Golden Girls (September 1985) and the 25th anniversary of Gilmore Girls (October 2000). The play "Meet & Greet" by Stan Zimmerman (two-time Writers Guild of America Award winner for Best Comedy Episode, The Golden Girls and Roseanne) & Christian McLaughlin (Married... With Children, Desperate Housewives) will be performed as part of the production titled MEET & GREET: An Evening of One Acts. In this play, four actresses collide at a sitcom audition where old rivalries ignite and comic chaos erupts.
MEET & GREET: An Evening of One Acts is a trio of sharp, satirical plays that pull back the curtain on the chaos, comedy, and cultural tension of life in the audition room. From a gospel singer who’s never heard of Hamilton, to a darkly absurd job interview, to four aging actresses in an all-out brawl for a sitcom role, this evening of one acts delivers a riotous ride through the highs and humiliations of showbiz.
