Solving Problems with Perspective, Composition, Blending & Shading – Still Life and Portraiture

Held at the Fort Myers Beach Art Association and Gallery, in Fort Myers on McGregor and Cypress Lake Drive, on Tuesday, April 28. There will be another of these workshops on Tuesday, May 12 as well. Artist and teacher Sunny Lee Grabert will begin with a short demo, but artists are welcome to work on their own pieces and ask for her help. It is not necessary to paint the “Demo,” Paint or bring whatever you choose for critique. Sunny will paint in watercolor and acrylics, but she is comfortable helping artists with oils, collage and other media after a long career. Students should bring their own supplies and at least one piece of art they need help with. At her demo at the gallery, Sunny put a sheet of clear acetate over a painting and showed the artist how painting darker colors, for example, would improve the work. She offers suggestions, but it’s up to the artist to decide if the changes will work. She said the acetate lets the artist see the improvements without altering their work.
