"Grow Fort Myers" Orchid Symposium Plant Sale and Workshops
Since we were not able to host our Orchid Symposium, we are combining it with a special Grow Fort Myers plant sale! Come spend the day with us and participate in workshops, demonstrations, and plants will be available for sale. The Garden Shoppe will be stocked with new plants and several vendors, including Bello Tropicals, Florida Orchid House, Hang-a-Pot, Jim-N-I Orchids, Krull/Smith Orchids, OFE Orchid Supplies, Orchids Amore, Sierra Madre, SO Orchids, Sunland Orchids, and Tropiflora will be on site.
Workshops will be offered throughout the day along with the plant sale on Saturday, April 8. Learn how to grow orchids as houseplants, potting orchids, wildflowers and growing orchids from seedlings.
Workshop Schedule (tickets required):
10-10:45 a.m. – Growing Orchids as Houseplants
11 – 11:45 a.m. – Potting Orchids
12 – 1 p.m. – Wildflower Talk and Stroll
1-1:45 p.m. – Introduction to Orchids
2- 2:45 p.m. – Growing Orchids from Seedlings
3-3:45 p.m. – Benign Neglect of Orchids
While a ticket is required for the workshops, there is not charge to visit the Garden Shoppe or plant vendors. Tickets to attend all four workshops are $25 for non-members or $20 for Edison Ford members and can be purchased online (does not include admission to the museum, lab or riverside of the property). Food and beverage vendors will have refreshments available for purchase, and there will be live music. Guests are encouraged to bring their own garden cart, as only a limited number will be available. To purchase tickets, visit www.edisonford.org.
