Charlotte County Jazz Society presents The MacKenzie-DePaola Quintet
Charlotte County Jazz Society presents MacKenzie-DePaolo Quintet on November 13, 2023, at 7:00 at the Charlotte Performing Arts Center.
Saxophonist Dave MacKenzie and trumpeter John DePaola will be presenting their homage to Dizzy and Bird. David MacKenzie is originally from the Atlantic City area. After a tenure of lounge and show work, he relocated to the Orlando area. He has since played and arranged for such groups as Bill Allred's Classic Jazz Band and the Orlando Jazz Orchestra. His latest projects include teaming with the great John DePaola and his own Mind Meld Quintet. John DePaola has been a full-time freelance trumpeter for over 35 years. He lives in Orlando, where he has been a musician at Walt Disney World and a member of the Rosie O'Grady's Jazz Band. They will be joined by John Redfield on piano, Charlie Silva on bass and Walt Hubbard on drums.
The concert is free to Charlotte County Jazz Society members. For non-members, tickets will be sold at the door for $25 per person, cash, or personal check. Students are free. Doors open at 6:30. The concert starts at 7:00.
