Pine Island is known for its fishing industry and in more recent times our skill at throwing fish!! March 14 is the day to put your skills to the test. By age group, starting at 10am We will be seeing who can throw a mullet (a fish!) the furthest, 192 ft is the record. Always fun to watch is the rivalry toss between our Fire and Sherriff department at 4pm, followed by our Championship Toss at 4:20 to decide King and Queen Mullet 2026. Bragging rights and cash prizes should make for a fun afternoon. If you are not interested in throwing a fish, not to worry, IslandFest has something for everyone. Event highlights include: Live Music; Matt Lee on stage from 11 to 1pm. Tyler Kluesner from 1 to 3pm and Nathaniel Lee from 3 to 5pm. Best Mullet Dip contest. Enter your creation by 1pm, winners announced at 2:30 Fishing Seminars with D & D Bait & Tackle. starting at 11am Fabulous Kids area with Adam’s wildlife Encounters, and Island nonprofit groups with fun activities. Pine Island Artisan, Craft and Business booths. Food and Adult Beverages, Kiwanis Fish Drop fund raiser: Buy your “fish drop” ticket and at 4:45pm we drop the numbered plastic fish from a crane, closest to the bullseye wins. Come on out and enjoy the fun! For our annual fundraiser we ask for a $5 donation at the gate, the proceeds benefit the youth programs of Pine Island and our island businesses.
