Hands-on classes in the Book Arts studio!
A Victorian method of creating decorative papers, often used in lieu of leather. Students will be encouraged to look at patterns from different cultures and their symbolic meanings. These papers can be used for end pages and decorative covers for your bookmaking projects, are suitable for scrapbooking and collage, and as art objects themselves. They hold many possibilities!
In the class, participants will get to play with three different paste paper recipes, experiment with pattern making and create a stack of your own, original designed paper.
This class is geared towards beginners and seasoned artists alike – we welcome makers of all skill levels. Join us!
Teaching Artist: Laura Chenault of Laurel Tree Bindery
