You’ll get an overview of the Cricut Machine in The Foundry's Textile Lab by making a custom porcelain coffee mug with your design on it. This is a good class for beginners who want to learn about the various functions of the machine, the different materials it can cut, as well as getting the best results from infusible ink transfer sheets.
Upon completion, and with a pay-what-you-can donation to The Foundry as a supporter, you're eligible to use our makerspaces during Open Maker Hours (Monday's 6-9pm and Saturday's 9am-1pm) to continue to hone your new skills and work on personal projects with support from our trained supervisors.
Skills/Topics Covered:
How the cricut machine works
The computer software that controls the machine
Working with infusible ink sheets
Using a heat press to transfer your design to the coaster material
How to troubleshoot common problems
Free computer programs to bring your designs to life
