Japan Culture Day (Bunka no Hi)
Bunka no Hi (Japan Culture Day) is a national holiday in Japan. Here in Buffalo, we celebrate by experiencing Japanese culture, without having to travel to Japan. Â Event tables feature a wide array of activities, including tea ceremony, folk dolls, origami, ikebana, calligraphy, gilded postcards and Japanese language lessons. Presentations include Japanese folk dancing, singing, flute, and taiko drums. We are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Japanese Garden in Delaware Park, so it's a perfect time to take a stroll and enjoy the autumn colors.
Admission to The Buffalo History Museum is free for Bunka no Hi. Sponsors are the Friends of the Japanese Garden, The Buffalo History Museum and Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy.
