Buffalo Chamber Music Society: Gift To The Community Recital with Chaeyoung Park, piano
Buffalo Chamber Music Society's Gift to the Community Recital invites Buffalo to experience the expressive, communicative artistry of one of today’s most compelling young pianists—free of charge.
Born in South Korea and raised in Kansas, Chaeyoung began piano lessons at age six and found in music a language and anchor as her family relocated to the United States. She went on to earn three degrees from The Juilliard School, where she studied with Robert McDonald and received the Arthur Rubinstein Prize, awarded to an outstanding graduating pianist. Her artistry has since earned First Prize at the 2022 Young Concert Artists International Auditions and the 2019 Hilton Head International Piano Competition, as well as recognition from Gramophone as “a world-class artist on every level.”
Chaeyoung has appeared at leading venues and festivals including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, the Gilmore Rising Stars series, Bravo! Vail, and festivals in the United States, Europe, and South Korea. She has also performed with orchestras including the Israel Philharmonic, Kansas City Symphony, Charlotte Symphony, and Knoxville Symphony.
For Chaeyoung, performance is not simply a pursuit of technical perfection, but an opportunity for connection—between artist, music, and listener. This intimate recital offers audiences a chance to hear a pianist whose playing combines exceptional command with warmth, imagination, and a deep sense of shared musical experience.
Presented by the Buffalo Chamber Music Society, this special concert is part of BCMS’s Gift to the Community series, created to make outstanding live chamber music accessible to everyone. Admission is free, and all are welcome: longtime classical-music listeners, students, families, curious newcomers, and anyone seeking an inspiring afternoon of live music.
