“Chante La Vie, Chante” sings the songs and tells the stories of four decades of gifted French singer-songwriters like Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel, Charles Aznavour and others. This scintillating program will appeal to audiences of all ages, especially those who admire the great chansons of France’s golden age of song. “Chante la Vie, Chante” is conceived and directed by André Nerman, who performed in Buffalo as part of his 2022 production of “Mad Men! Chez Molière” at UB. “From the Left Bank cabarets to the rebel generation of the 1970s, la chanson tells the story of our country,” says Nerman. “In some cases, artists of genius with dramatic destinies have left a universal imprint on the entire world.”
Sponsored by the Alliance Française de Buffalo and UB’s Department of Romance Languages and Literatures.
