Our celebration of the Chinese New Year features the world premiere of composer Alice Hong's Zhulong (the Candle Dragon) with BPO soloist Feng Hew.
We're also celebrating Black History Month with the WNY premiere of the gorgeous Andante Moderato by Florence Price, the first African-American woman to be recognized as a symphonic composer, and the first to have a composition played by a major orchestra. Maestro Christopher Weber concludes our program with a rousing rendition of Victor Herbert's luscious Serenade for Strings.
Plenty of off-street parking. Free for ages 17 and under.
Stay afterward for our reception where you can meet our artists and enjoy champagne and authentic Chinese sweets to ring in the Year of the Dragon !!!
