America 250: The Jewish American Story
The Jewish Museum of Buffalo invites the public to celebrate America 250: The Jewish American Story on Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 6:00–9:00 p.m. at 805 Delaware Avenue, Buffalo, New York. This special opening celebration commemorates 250 years of Jewish contributions to the American experience through history, art, music, poetry, and community engagement. The evening marks the opening of the museum's newest exhibition, America 250: The Jewish American Story, alongside 88/250, a companion exhibition by Buffalo artist Noah Breuer, whose contemporary artwork reflects on generations of family textile traditions while exploring themes of American identity, heritage, and belonging.
Visitors will enjoy the exhibitions, family-friendly art activities, poetry, and an original musical program that traces the American story from the Revolutionary era to the present day. Moderated by veteran journalist Rich Newberg, the performance combines classical, folk, klezmer, jazz, Broadway, and contemporary music with historical readings and poetry, celebrating the enduring influence of Jewish Americans on the nation's cultural and civic life.
