The Pacifica Quartet and Sharon Isbin, guitar, Sunday, Oct. 5 at Sleepy Hollow High School
The Pacifica Quartet and Sharon Isbin are collaborating on a series of performances and recordings featuring works for guitar and strings, with a focus on pieces inspired by Spain and Italy. Their program will include: Antonio Vivaldi: Concerto in D Major for Guitar and Strings, RV 93, (arr. Pujol/ed. Isbin), Enrique Granados: Danza española No. 5 “Andaluza,” Francisco Tárrega: Capricho árabe, Agustín Barrios Mangoré: Waltz Opus 8 No. 4, Joaquín Turina: La Oración del Torero, Opus 34, Astor Piazzolla: Four for Tango, Antonín Dvořák: String Quartet in F Major, Op. 96, “American,” Luigi Boccherini: Guitar Quintet No. 4 in D major, G.448, “Fandango.” Meet the artists at a festive post-concert reception.
