About All the Colors of the Dark
Whitaker’s latest novel is a heart-wrenching, genre-bending epic that traverses the fine line between light and dark, triumph and tragedy, and devotion and obsession. Set in Missouri in the 1970s and spanning 25 years, the story blends mystery, thriller, and romance. The novel centers around the small town of Monta Clare, where girls have been disappearing. When the daughter of a wealthy family becomes a target, local boy Patch Macauley, born with only one eye, becomes an unlikely hero. As Patch embarks on a multi-year effort to locate another missing girl, the novel delves deeply into the impact of childhood wounds on adulthood.
Celebrated author Gillian Flynn calls it “a soaring thriller and an epic love story that hits like a sledgehammer… an absolute must-read.”
Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with Chris Whitaker and Amy Einhorn, as well as explore the themes and inspiration behind All the Colors of the Dark.
