Participants will learn the basics of printmaking using a gel plate and create
finished prints, greeting cards, bookmarks, decorative paper for collage and more
using quick drying water-based acrylic paint.
Demonstrations will include additive and subtractive monoprinting techniques
using paper stencils made in the workshop, string, thread, rubber bands and other
materials in this ‘make and take’ workshop. We will also use natural materials
such as leaves, ferns, grasses and vines as masks and textures. All materials will be
provided and no prior experience is necessary, just an interest in discovering this
unique, fun and easy way to make prints with minimal set up time.
Capacity is limited to ten participants for each workshop. Participants should
arrive on or before start time as instruction is provided at the beginning of each
workshop. Only one workshop can be attended by each participant. All are
welcome ages 16 and up.
Please wear appropriate clothing and/or an apron for using paints.
This project is made possible with funds from arts Alive, a regrant program of
ArtsWestchester with support from the Office of the Governor, the New York
Legislature, and the New York State Council on the Arts.
